Dale P. Deacon (aka Deac) is an internationally-acclaimed digital artist and virtual worldbuilder.
His art primarily explores notions of identity in relation to environment through holism, transhumanism, complexity theory, and meta-narrative. Career highlights include a directorial debut and world-premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, contributing to the Webby award wining project Oxymore by Jean Michel Jarre, 2 x Spirit of Raindance Awards with the Metaverse Crew and Tim Voronkin respectively, winning a Design Award in MONA’s Renaissance of the Metaverse competition with Chris Bianchi and Adam Lieber, creating one-of-a-kind VR avatars for a number of notable VR personalities, world building for intl. VR festivals, and collaborating with some of the world's most inspiring contemporary artists, architects, and musicians. Deac’s VR/AR community development efforts include writing and speaking about various technologies, the creation of the weAReVR.jozi community, hosting of the AR/VR Africa Hackathon, mentorship with The Metaverse Crew (MVC), and the creation of The Africa XR Report. |
